Visitors coming by road reached 3.36 million, accounting for 18.7% and increasing by 20.4%. Visitors coming by sea reached 264 thousand arrivals, accounting for 1.5% and increasing by 22.7% over last year.
In 2019, international visitors from Asia reached 14.38 million, accounting for 79.9% of the total number of international visitors, up 19.1% over the previous year.
Visitors from Europe reached 2.1 million, up 6.4% compared to 2018. Visitors from the Americas reached 973.8 thousand arrivals, up 7.7%; visitors from Australia reached 432.4 thousand arrivals, down 1.2%; visitors from Africa reached 48 thousand arrivals, up 12.2%.
In particular, the total revenue from tourists in 2019 reached 726 trillion VND, up 17.1% over the same period in 2018.
